Our hearts filled with sorrow on hearing that our friend and brother Elder Lee Irving Gibson has transverse the veil from temporal labor to eternal rest. But we rejoice in the words of Jesus Christ, “That where I am, ye may be also.” We say to his wife, children, and family that we mourn with you. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
Elder Gibson has been a member of Holy Nazarene Church of God in Christ for over 30 years, using his craftsman skills and serving as the general contractor to renovate the building that Holy Nazarene calls its church home. It was through this work he and Pastor Jeffries built a spiritual bond.
He was license to preach by our founding pastor the late Elder Calvin Jeffries and ordained an elder in the Church of God in Christ by the late Bishop Esau Courtney. He faithfully served as the church treasurer and Sunday School Superintendent. He was a faithful spiritual son to Pastor Jeffries, attending to many of his cares.
Whereas, We can attest to the fact of his undying faith to God and his loyalty to change the social condition of many, we hold his memory in high regards.
Elder Lee Irving Gibson of Blessed Memory
